Neither fully animal nor fully human. Vishnu assumes the form that breaks all categorical limits — defeating Hiranyakashipu at twilight, in a doorway, on his lap: neither inside nor outside, neither day nor night, neither man nor beast. The ego’s fortress has no room it can seal against the infinite.
